The author, in her own words.
"I came to Portugal for a life change with my family. What I found was the home I had always dreamed of – the land itself welcomed me and inspired me."
Corinne Weber – Cascais, Portugal
THE SHORT VERSION
Corinne Weber is the author of the Conch-quest Trilogy – Chasing Echoes (2025), Chasing Stories (2025), and Chasing Dreams (2026) – a series of environmental fantasy novels for tweens, teens, and the grown-ups who still read with a light under their blankets. She writes from a desk in Cascais, on the coast outside of Lisbon, where the weather forecast is "wind" eleven months a year and she is not complaining.
Before she wrote fantasy, Corinne had lived on the American east coast. Immersed in that always-on-the-go culture, she learned how fast-paced life can be, and how much the world needs kindness within it. Her books carry those lessons with them, sprinkled throughout their characters and their choices.
She is, in no particular order: a slow runner, a fast reader, a passable cook of Portuguese caldo verde, and an enthusiastic but consistently terrible knitter. She lives with her husband, her children, and a cat named Isabel who is convinced she is royalty.
HOW SHE WORKS
Corinne mostly writes on an iPad with a keyboard. But she also writes in the car, into her notes app on her phone, and at three a.m. when an idea strikes. There are also notes in bound notebooks and occasional scraps of paper, and eventually those ideas make their way into the story. She has a desk which is older than she is, but there are plenty of days where the writing occurs on the couch with a cat on her lap.
The Conch-quest trilogy began as a story for her children about the magic that a simple stone could hold. What it became brings that wonder and simple fascination to the rest of the world.
